Advocating for the care of widows
TransWorld Radio South Africa recently undertook research into the challenges that widows in rural KwaZulu-Natal face. Their findings have been published both in South Africa and internationally: widows in South Africa are a vulnerable people group. Further research by other SALT Alliance members corroborates this study.

Advocating for stateless children
The SA Dept of Education is insisting that all children must have valid ID documents to attend school as from 1 January 2016. SALT Alliance Member Thembalethu Nkomazi reports that many children in the region of Nkomazi are being denied access to education (a violation of their basic human rights) and have thus become "stateless".
